Vienna Riichi Open Results

Report on the final results of the Vienna Riichi Open 2024

After nine intense rounds of Mahjong over two days, only a few of the 64 participants could take home prizes.

Maximilian Hennig, who came in last place (excluding Roland Maier, who unfortunately had to be substituted after 4 rounds), was awarded a free entry to the Vienna Riichi Open 2025.

EMA Observer Krzysztof Dabrowski scored a Kokushi Musou, which was rewarded with some Manner Schnitten, a traditional Viennese sweet.

Players from three different countries made it to the podium:

  1. Grant Mahoney (EMA Guest, Canada)
  2. Michael van der Sluijs (Romania)
  3. Jonas Mönicke (Germany)

They all got a trophy and a prize pack. In addition, tournament winner Grant Mahoney was also awarded a seat at WRC 2025 in Tokyo.
